The update was prompted by a dispute between photographer David Slater and the Wikimedia Foundation, after an ungovernable monkey hijacked Slater’s camera and took a selfie. Wikimedia claimed the copyright belonged to the monkey, whilst the US Copyright Office eventually sided with Slater.
